Mission & Vision

The Mission of I Can Christian Academy, Inc. is to build a solid foundation in the lives of children, not only academically but also spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and socially according to Proverbs 22:6, “Training them up in the way they should go, and when they are old they will not depart from it.” Producing future leaders who are full of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding so they can go out and influence the lives of others in a positive way. Therefore, changing lives and making an impact on the world.

About the Founder

Miranda Burnette is the president and founder of Miranda Burnette Ministries, Inc. She is also the Director and Founder of “I Can” Christian Academy, Inc. which is a branch of Miranda Burnette Ministries.    

She is also the author of the following books: Dare to Dream and Soar Like an Eagle! The Sky’s the Limit! and Success Starts in Your Mind, A Manual on How to Think Your Way to Success. 
Miranda is passionate about teaching and has been an elementary school teacher for 12 years. She has taught several different grade levels but enjoys teaching kindergarten students. Her favorite subject to teach is reading and she especially loves teaching preschoolers and kindergarten students how to read, as well as teaching young students how to write. 

Miranda led a Tutoring Program at a public school last school term (2007/2008) with a team of 4 teachers and 2 paraprofessionals. The program consisted of tutoring 30 third-grade students in reading once a week.  She is also the Director of a Tutoring Program this school term (2008/2009) at a public school helping students struggling in reading, and preparing students for standardized test.   

Educational Degree's include:  

  • Associates of Arts Degree from Pensacola Junior College in Pensacola, Florida.  
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia.
  • Masters of Education Degree in Elementary Education from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia.   
  • Educational Specialist Degree in Elementary Education from Troy State University in Phenix City, Alabama. 
  • Professional Certification in Educational Leadership from Troy State University in Phenix City, Alabama. 
  • Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Troy State University in Phenix City, Alabama.   


    • She has also completed several courses towards a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership at Argosy University in Sarasota, Florida.
